Wordsmyth Theater Company, in collaboration with Actor's Gym, presents the second reading in the 2010 American Playwriting Reading Series. During college, art historian Paul Thorn led a student tour through London when an enigmatic youth named David inexplicably disappeared. Haunted by the loss and gripped by the uncanny resonance between the boy and Bronzino's portraits, Paul receives a number of visitations which might resolve his longing.

Attendees of the reading are encouraged to complete our online Script Feedback form afterwards to provide feedback to the playwright. Your input is greatly appreciated.

The Actors Gym is a collective of Houston area professional level actors who meet weekly to "exercise" their acting muscles. Membership in the gym is by invitation or audition only. The experience and/or training expected for membership to the gym is for the individual to possess an ability level that is agreed upon by the Actors Gym members to be at a professional performance level. If your work is not known to the gym members an audition for membership is required. You will be asked to perform two contrasting monologues that total no more than five minutes. Your audition and experience will be considered by two or more members of the gym to decide on your request for membership.
