Wordsmyth Theater Company is a Houston-based playwright’s theater dedicated to the development of new theatrical works from formative stages though full production. Through workshops and readings of plays with directors, dramaturgy and performers at various stages, as well as through lectures, seminars, classes and web resources, Wordsmyth aims to provide the playwright with a wide range of assistance in realizing their artistic vision.
Wordsmyth Theater Company was created in 2007 by Elizabeth Earle, Karen Schlag and Asher Wyndham, and saw its first production of two original works at Company OnStage that year. Since then they have been developing a cohesive structure for the Company that can effectively aid writers in the development of new works.
